I’m a man, a God fearing man, an American, a husband, a father, a sibling and I’ve probably been some choice words for people. I’ve had my ups and my downs. As of lately through this lockdown I’ve been trying to figure out what’s going on. I’ve had my thoughts and opinions. I’ve shared some and read others. I’ve posted comments on people’s Facebook post and I’ve also withheld from doing so. I’ve been one of the one’s that has let some of the political things going on distract me from the truth of the situation. I’ve seen some heated disagreements and I’ve been part of them as well. There is a gap right now is this nation and there is a darkness that is trying to widen that gap.
It’s late on Tuesday April 21st, 2020. I was reading through a friends post and I just felt the Lord speak to me. He showed me that we as a church and as a nation are allowing the satan to win. If Jesus came to show us how to walk, push us to further limits, climb himself on a stake, defeat death, raise from the dead and leave his Spirit with us. Then why are we so blind as a church that we let the Caesar divide us? I was in a dark place at the end of 2009 and I had the opportunity to go to Georgia to clear my head. Upon being there I went to a church and at that church was a guest worship leader who was also doing the sermon. Low and behold he was from Southern California as well. So here I am and here he is on the other side of the country at the same time. God appointed! In his sermon I remember on distinct thing. Governments may change, currency may change, laws may change, but my God will never change.
As a church I feel that yes we need to have our eyes and ears aware, but most importantly we need to have our Spirit aware. We need to make sure that we are more connected to our Spirit than to what we are told about our politics. If we are connected to our Spirit which is God’s Spirit left within us. Then we can gain the true discernment of what is going on in the unseen. Politics will do what politics will do, but it was Jesus that told us to give Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s. It is time that we start paying close attention to this, before we are all swept away. If we as a church are steadfast in our prayer and spiritual warfare than we’ll be able to not only change the tides, but overcome the darkness that is lurking about. There is something going on and things are a bit fishy, but now is the time for us to RISE to the occasion and do what the church is truly called to do. It is not time to find out who is right or wrong about politics. It is time for us to give God what is God’s and allow Him to handle the rest. Just as Jesus said, “Do you think that I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angles?” This is a pivotal moment for the church to stand in that gap knowing that our Father could do this at anytime. If we don’t take this moment to do the work he has called us to then the sowing will not be done. We cannot allow the devil to come in between us like disagreeing children. So I call out to you my fellow believers and I call myself out as well. Will we stop this and go to battle or are we going to allow the death of Christ be forsaken by our blindness?
